Clive Barker's Nightbreed Comic - Issue 4

Volume 1 no. 4 “See Midian Fall”
This issue takes us to the movie’s conclusion. It follows the screenplay pretty well, placing more emphasis in how Decker is enthralled to the mask, which (as in the Cabal book) is a different persona, and we see how it dominates him, persuading him to let it kill Lori.
Lylesburg is killed while releasing the berserkers, and Boone is left to finish the job. In a twist, the berserkers grab him but let him go again when they realise he’s one of them.
Narcisse is decapitated by Decker (although he re-jons Boone in a later issue!) and Baphomet baptizes Boone ‘Cabal  and tells him he must build Midian anew…
Boone turns Lori into ‘Breed after she fatally stabs herself with one of Decker’s blades…’You’ll never leave me now Boone’, here sounding more like a threat than a lover’s promise kept…
In this comic’s version of events, Decker is not resurrected by Ashberry like he is in the theatrical release of the movie’s ‘klunky’ tacked-on ending.

Joyce meanwhile has seen the error of his ways and assists Boone and Rachel in rescuing Babette, finally giving in to his humanity rather than sticking to the ‘law and order’ mentality that drives Eigerman and the Sons of the Free.
Good old reverend Ashberry is out for ‘Breed blood, attacking (and what seems like killing) Eigerman and becoming the new hunter of  the ‘Breed.
The ending is in keeping with the book rather than the movie, with the ‘Breed holed up in a barn awaiting Cabal’s return while he goes off with the ‘turned’ Lori to find a new Midian.
